36 years ago, Lester and Sue came to Belgium with Sydney, Ben, Rebecca, and Alisa for Lester's sabbatical.
That year remains an influential part of the Morss family history and one of the key reasons we went on this sabbatical with our children. Belgium provided great friendships and memories for the entire Morss family. It also provided an excellent culinary education ranging from seafood to all things chocolate!
We're not entirely sure when Lester developed his love of mussels, but spending time in Belgium certainly honed his appreciation of them.
Right near Grand Place was a nice restaurant featuring mussels. We ordered a bucket of them to share.
The mussels were delicious. Joey and Lanna also tried them and each had more than one! (Sammy deferred).
Not a day goes by that we are not thinking of Lester. Alisa especially has been finding our sabbatical very bittersweet, enjoying these amazing experiences with our children but profoundly sad that Lester cannot experience them with us.
We cherish our memories of him and created another in his honor.
